Orca's Revenge

A fishing boat left the port of Kinsale
The rain was lashing and blowing a gale
Fishing grounds were in sight
Then they had a great fright
Along side swam a giant killer whale.

A fish pong round the boat was so smelly
"Hold your noses "cried out Captain Kelly
Whale then bit off a chunk
Fishing boat and crew sunk
They all ended up in the whales belly.

Hope

Don't rush to wash off the sea salt
drying on your skin;
the hopes it carries from other oceans,
those remain yet to be seen.

Pirates Cove

Water wives live sheltered lives
Amongst the coves where pirates rove

Daily catch is makers match
Where red hot stoves hide fresh baked loaves

Water men are thick and thin
So often strove where shipmates hove

Water child is often wild
The treasure trove where pirates roved

What He Gets For Empty Nets

The old fisherman sat in his dory

Empty nets, but concocting a story

It would sure mean his life

Should he greet his young wife

At the dock without financial quarry.

Now his wife was as fit as could be

With the girth and the might of a tree

He considered her ire

Then began to perspire

And headed his boat ... out to sea.

Oh That Suzy

If Suzy sells sea shells at the sea shore
and has supposedly sold them for some time
after all these years,
Why hasn’t Suzy had the sense to save some coin
or secure herself a real job

So surely, you say, I should let Suzy be
to sell her damn sea shells all day by the sea
It’s silly but she’s simply squealing with glee
With sunshine and shells,
       she’s much smarter than me

Chicken of the Sea

There once was a ship,
full of chickens at sea.
They plundered and pillaged,
quite ferociously.

They sat on their perch,
with their ivory white sails.
They were led by a wolf,
with a chicken suit for a veil.

As their numbers declined,
they soon began to see.
He wasn't like the rest,
they could see his big sharp teeth.

One by one they jumped ship,
then the wolf was alone.
With his chickens all gone,
he trolled on back home.

A Fairytale

Did you ever read a fairytale,
maybe the fun book was on sale.
I had a fairytale book with a huge purple whale,
riding on his back was a yellow fox with a pink tail.
the purple whale was large-scale,
the yellow fox loved wearing a ponytail.
They loved to drink ginger ale,
as they eat dishes of fruit cocktail.
Guess this is enough of my wild tale,
now off to buy a new fairytale book at a yard sale.

Suzy May's Bikini Mishap

There once was a buxom lass, Suzy May
Went in the sea on a hot August day
She got out, there was laughter
And all stares were upon her
A freak wave had put her boobs on display...

I'Ve Solved One Climate Change Issue

About climate change and its effects there has been a lot of chatter.

One concern is that the sea-level is rising and I think I know the matter.

My research reveals that there is a dearth of sea sponges, (that is my notion).

We need to increase the growth of sponges to soak up the water in the ocean!

(Concocted with considerable tongue in cheek!)

Pasta, Pasta, Everywhere

Oh, vermicelli, rigatoni!
Lost on a sea of minestrone.
The sea beneath my feet,
And nothing else to eat,
I live on cheese and macaroni.

My Green Sea Turtle

wonderful slick shell,
Brown and golden, the color of a shell.
That perfect shaped shell.
The shell of my turtle i know too well.

You are the greenest.
The most bravest.
And fastest (i think)
And maybe the smartest too.

You slick and slide,
And glide on by,
The water is what you love.
And you swim in the water, like a dove in the sky.

Seasick

A young man shipped out on the sea;
No care if ‘twas windward or lee.
	But storms came along,
	His stomach not strong,
Now sees ships only on TV!

The Weary Winter Snow

The snow white blanket glistening
so brightly all around
has grown so very tired
as the winter's winding down.

Oh how we long for Springtimes' sun
to smile about the place
to melt the weary winter snow
and wash its' dirty face.

But when the old and forlorn snow
has melted we shall find
we'll curse all of the Springtime mud
that it will leave behind.

This was inspired by Moggie, the woman I was aid
and companion to, when she was commenting on
the dirty snow and said someone should write a
poem about it. I wrote this for her and I wanted to
share this with you. RG

In the Sea

If I’d been born a whale
No happier could I be
Swimming, splashing, spy hopping
Roaming the open sea

If I’d been born a lobster
No happier could I be
Crawling along the ocean floor
Living in the sea

If I’d been born a seahorse
No happier could I be
Swimming among the rocks and plants
At the bottom of the sea

But I was born a human and
No happier could I be
Because I can swim in the ocean
And see what’s in the sea

Super Grouper, Sardine Party Pooper

Scuba diving, oh! what a dream
In the Gulf, amidst the Sardines
With a Florida blond
Whom I've grown to be fond
It's dark, is it all that it seems

Our dive is going oh! so super
Boo! said the nosey big Grouper
Och! do you have to be mean
To these little Sardines
Your just a big party pooper

Told of he goes in a mood
Just like a big bully should
Hey! next time take better care
To these Sardines you did scare
It's impolite, and you've been oh! so rude

Roll On

Lauren Hill slow songs thrill,

they pop like a fast moving pill,

I am flopped on top of a junk food bill,

and running with a skunk who tells me to take in my fill-

like leading um' on into my dream,
I create a festering lean,

I rank every thought in order of how I like it,

and prep for a long time that's gonna break all the cycles.

Striding with my shrine,

as I shock a spine,

revitalize and prime-

as I preen and primp and chimp-

as I act like a pimp,

I black out and gimp,

skimp out on my dying moment because death is no shrimp!

Hook, Line and Sinker

The fishing of Scotland's coast
To be honest I have to boast
Please come take a look
And dangle your hook
And join me in traditional toast

My favourite place is called Dunnet Head
With many species it has to be said
One just dangles their line
Hey presto! see what you find
It's a bite, not the weight of your lead

But sadly there has been some stinkers
When the fish must have been thinkers
For many times we did try
In us they espied
Wasting our time dropping our sinkers

Avoiding Amputation

I watched the sailfish spring from the sea

Had no wings, an enigma to me

Why in flight did it embark?

Pursuit by a great white shark

Its sail would soon be an amputee

Sea Hag

Sea Hag at last got to Popeye
Spiked his spinach with Viagra (Oh my!)
Olive Oyl was overtly outraged and insulted
When a SCANDELOUS, sad affair soon after resulted...

The Boy Who Swallowed the Sea

I once had a friend
who swallowed the sea,
with a thirst so great
it was awesome to see.

Gulping down water,
in large mouthfuls he drank.
Then into the sea,
I was pushed and I sank!

Sitting on a sea turtle,
I yelled up, "Please stop!
I'm sorry I poured
pepper sauce in your pop."

Oh To Be a Fish

I'm clinging to a rock,
Being battered by the waves.
At the mercy of the sea,
Living long and tedious days.

No escape for me,
Life's a constant tussle
Relentlessly being pounded,
It's not easy being a mussel.

Stuck here on this rock
Filtering away all day.
Nothing to eat but plankton,
I wish I could swim away.

Oh, to be a fish
And cruise the open sea,
I may be shackled to my rock,
But I dream of being free.

Fish Butt

Basking on the sun-lit ice.
Walrus mumble filled with hype.
Today I haven't a thing to do
(that's nice)
But fish, butt-wipe, butt you.

Sea Sick

I wanted to go fishing in the ocean
Forgot the result of constant motion
You wouldn't believe
How much I heaved
Would give gold for a nausea potion
