Imagination

I have a wandering mind
my lines as I draw them
over the grid as I steer them
through intersections
I veer them
perspectives I see
when I peer them...
detecting truth
in the dots as I hear them

A gentle Awe
the sound of pause
soft claw.ing sings from my pen
when the lines are drawn
and my mind goes wandering...

About U
Imagination.
My artful perception.

Enigma's Calling

Extraordinary, I am
Craving for unusual thoughts
Endless exploration without boundary
Understanding the gift I shouldn't fought

Invisible drawings in my mind
Playing with the words in my head
My passion
The food of my soul

I feel so lucky
The random thoughts
A lifetime companion
A self esteem builder
A goal planner
Be my forever life saver

I write more
I talk less
I want to please
I chose to bore

What tickles me the most
Is to know what I'm for
Thinking is my love
When my mind goes empty
That's when I hate

My day dreaming lust
Organizing things in my mind
Playing roles of simulation
Where images of art is my vision
And words of attitude is my heart

Adam and Eve and the Fig Leaves

Here's something I have been wondering
For so very long
If Adam and Eve wore only figs leaves
How did they keep them on

It couldn't have been a rubber band
And certainly not super glue
I just really have no idea
Do you have a clue

What did they do in the winter
When fig trees are bare
One leaf wouldn't last all year
I think there's a mystery there

If only Eve hadn't eaten that apple
If only Adam hadn't taken a bite
I wouldn't be trying to solve this
And I'd sleep better at night

Waterloo Clerihew 23-Skidoo

Waterloo Clerihew 23-Skidoo

Napoleon Bonaparte
1769 Corsica is where he got his start
One of the greatest commanders in history
His manner of death a 200-year-old mystery

Napoleon played it close to the vest
With his armies he was always the best
But 'twas nothing he could do
When he met his Waterloo
Lived his last few years under house arrest

Napoleon drank the water and headed for the loo
He did nothing different than you or I could ever do
Be kind to your skin and protect your bone-a-parts
Remember that's where good hygiene starts!

Eternity

I am looking right at you and you don’t even know it.
I will deter your intent and throw you off a steep cliff.
But in the air will be my snuff and gruff you can sniff.
Eventually I will have some sort of mercy of just a bit.

Surely we are above empowering manners of tat for tit.
Maybe I’ll light a scented candle and blow you my whiff.
Or maybe I will strand you grounding your bones to stiff.
Opposed or decomposed and still composed I won’t quit.

Upside down,
Inside or out,
I’ll throw down.
I am the clout.

Don’t mistake my identity,
Either or, it’s your eternity.

The Toilet Dream Speaks the Truth

I had a dream
Where all my clothes
Were in my toilet bowl
Clogging it.

Apparently this means that
I am drenched in emotions
Which need to be released
And expressed,

So I wrote
This poem.

The Saucers Have Arrived!!!

they're here!
the saucers I've waited for...
It's hard to believe...
we've waited so long!

with a sense of wonder,
and a sense of joy...
at their arrival....
oh boy!...oh boy!...

yes, this seems to be
a red-letter day..
I'm left with only...
one more thing to say...

when, just when,
will we wait,
till kittens turn to pups,?
do you think I might expect...
to get the matching cups!...
.

In Search of the Mind

(This poem was published in Every Day Poets. Enjoy the read!!!!)

“You have lost your mind!”
they told him. His eccentricities
surpassed the boundaries
they regarded as
normal.
Determined to get his mind back,
he searched forest, roadside,
bridge, cemetery….everywhere he remembered
visiting; wondering whether his mind existed or not,
because he had memories.

The Wrinkle Mystery

Written on 9/26/2022
Updated on 9/27/2022
by Gail DeBole

The young boy was watching his mom
Straighten sheets on his bed with her palms.
He began scratching his head
Looked at the floor and his bed
And seemed to be mildly alarmed.

The young boy who was not quite four,
Said, “The wrinkles are not on the floor.
It did not take long
For them to be gone,
But why did they not fall to the floor?"

Love Nuts

When coco de mer trees were found
Their nuts had most people enthralled
They all thought they looked erotic
So "Love Nuts" is what they were called

Still unknown how they reproduce
Explained in some of the wild tales
On stormy nights, the female trees
Are approached by uprooted males!

Viewing this mating process though
Would cause you to die or go blind
Seek not shelter under male trees
They might come at you from behind!

Dear Michelle

You almost had me,
I wanted you,
The way you stuck to me like super glue,
I was feeling you,
But I knew,
I could never have you,
But, the way you looked at me,
The way my body pleads,
We can never be,
Because I’m too old,
And your only thirteen.

Mystery Solved

I saw a little button,
It was lying on the floor,
I wondered who had lost it
 And looked around for more.
 It hadn’t come from Donna
Or from Stuart’s nice new shirt,
 And it wasn’t Kelly’s button
That was lying in the dirt.
I couldn’t find who lost it
 I had a worried frown.
But now I know the answer,
 My trousers just fell down.

Sweet Carmel

The taste of homemade Carmel so sweet/ everyone I know desires the treat.

After one night in the kitchen covered/ half the pan gone, next morning discovered.

Is it my beagle Lily whom loves any food? / she seems in a hyper beagle mood.

I know I heard a squeak in the night / a dream ? No, for low was the kitchen light.

T'was my husband, for he can't resist/ soft , buttered brown sugar , a Vanilla twist.

Voldemort, By Contrast, Was Vanquished Easily

Changed climate is not a surprise
With drilling for gas on the rise
Where can life forms hide
From carbon dioxide
And methane let loose in the skies?

Neo-druids auger gas wells
And add fluids with sulfurous smells!
Are poisons they've tapped
With their magic wands trapped
Evermore by sorcerous spells?

Votes and news seem not relevant
The unrelenting elephant
In all our best rooms
Is fossil fuel's fumes
And toxins we can't circumvent

Missing Sock Mystery Solution

One of the biggest mystery's
Known to man that makes no sense to me
Is why when washing a pair of socks
You can only ever find one
The solution don't buy just two socks but three
One for the sock fairy and a pair for us
End of the mystery.

Case closed mystery solved.

Roll On

Lauren Hill slow songs thrill,

they pop like a fast moving pill,

I am flopped on top of a junk food bill,

and running with a skunk who tells me to take in my fill-

like leading um' on into my dream,
I create a festering lean,

I rank every thought in order of how I like it,

and prep for a long time that's gonna break all the cycles.

Striding with my shrine,

as I shock a spine,

revitalize and prime-

as I preen and primp and chimp-

as I act like a pimp,

I black out and gimp,

skimp out on my dying moment because death is no shrimp!

Cosmology Vs Cosmetology

Dark matter makes scientists sweat
Their telescopes can't find it...yet
What's lost could be found
If they’d just turn around
And gaze at a sexy brunette

Irony of Life

IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE WHY SOME OF US RUSH FRUITS LIKE APPLE, RIPE PAWPAW, MANGO, ORANGE AND MANY MORE.
WHAT I DON'T GET IS WHY FEW OF US STILL CAN'T DETATCH OURSELVES FROM FRUITS LIKE LIME AND LEMON
DESPITE HOW STRICTLY SOUR THEY TASTE.
SAME APPLIES TO THE CHOICE OF FRIENDS WE KEEP.
EVEN WHEN FEW OF THEM MAKE US CRY IN THE CLOSET
WE STILL CANT LET GO OF THEM.

MYSTERY OF LIFE.

The Sock

I saw it there in the road: A sock!
How, thought I, had it come there to be?
Did it endeavor to escape a foot?
Discarded and black as the blackest soot.
Yet now it's found to be in front of me?

This will not do; This never knowing.
Investigation! I must insist.
Immediately my day has to stop.
Following this crumb that had come to drop
I halted the traffic who were now pissed.

Approach did I, all the horns ablaze.
Undeterred, I cried out "No never!"
But soon felt I anything but smitten
To retrieve not a sock but a mitten.
Another disaster altogether.

Poem Pinata

Please strike
the piñata
i have made for you
out of the stripes of paper
and the glue,

In the midnight hour
i have labored long
on this plump pig
of collaged letters.
with corrugated metaphors
Sightless Find the weakest point.

let that guide
your hand
the transparent rose
cellophane
wrapped candy
shall flow
in libation of sound
pour down
like a quirky rainstorm
bouncing
like silver
coins
on the sidewalk
of your mind.
