Black Magic Hearts

What underhanded monkey business
razzle-dazzle bull is this?
Whose double-crossing, flimflam scam,
debauchery or hocus sham
is wheeling dealing in romance,
putting lovers in a trance?

Antics, capers or witch's brew,
enchanting hymns or shaman's stew,
whose quackery or voodoo drink
made Casanova stop and think
and turned the ancient lovers cold;
poor Romeo and nymphs of old?

Perhaps black magic's potent gel,
or craftiness or wicked spell,
a clever con or master hoax,
or just some trickster playing jokes.
Whatever ruse that works the arts,
mumbo jumbo seduces hearts!

Winter Magic

An adrenalin rush, rocked my head
When I saw a child- on her sled
It made me think; should I go slide
I'm eight-two...So, before I died
Just one more time, before I'm dead
Or before I'm ridden...in my bed
What could happen, something tragic?
I'm eighty-two, can you call that tragic?
So here I go, down the hill ....Wheeee!!
Oh my God- ((Tragic)) ...."Peeee"

The Big Surprise

An adventurous lad named Ling,
By chance he found a talking ring.
Then a big surprise,
Right before his eyes,
It became a bird that could sing!

Where Is the Magic - Alexis Karpouzos

Where is the magic?
We all start out knowing magic.
We are born with hurricanes
and whirlwinds, oceans
and galaxies inside us.
We are able to sing to birds
and read the clouds
and see the destiny
in grains of sand.
But we have forgotten the magic
and we feel without compass,
alone and desperately,
only selfishness, only pain,
fear and darkness.
But, magic of love has never
disappeared from the life,
the love hold the life.

Magic Beans

Someday I’ll find some Magic Beans to eat
Digest them in the comfort of my shed
They can be black or green or pink or red
The feeling of its warmth inside my tum
And maybe such a bean will go with rum
Then afterward the impetus will start
of breaking wind, to flatulate or fart
to run and hide and take with me the smell
I would not blend in company too well
If only I could make a bean that leaves
The odor of a lovely summer breeze
I’d even add a piquant taste to gel
a Magic Bean without the dire wrath
Exquisite food and not the aftermath

Magic Kisses and Valentine Wishes

MAGIC KISSES AND VALENTINE WISHES

Softly, gently, her lips touched mine
The sweetness like that of finely aged wine
Our lips parted, our tongues entwined
My heart raced wildly -- please stand still time

She moaned softly as the minutes passed
I wanted this feeling to always last
Alas! reality came oh so fast
The sweet kiss ended in one hot blast

We had felt the heat of magic kisses
And openly spoke of Valentine wishes
I took the kids to the park to feed the fishes
While she went to the kitchen to wash the dishes

My Poem Jack's Painting and Jill

JACK PAINTED A PICTURE
OF A PURPLE WATERING PAIL
ON A PLAIN PAINTER’S PANEL
AND PLACED IT ON TOP OF A HILL

AND PUT MY POEM OF A PLANT DEEP INTO IT
I CALLED IT A COLLAGE CORSAGE
OR WAS IT A MIRAGE MONTAGE

NO MATTER
JILL WATERED THE WORK ON THE HILL
AND IT GREW UP OFF THE PANEL LIKE A PAPER BEAN STALK
INTO A LOVE SONNET TO JILL

I CALLED IT A COLLABORATION
I CALLED IT MIXED MEDIA
I CALLED IT HIGH ART

THE FAME WENT TO THEIR HEADS
JACK TOOK THE FALL HARD
AND JILL JUST TUMBLED DOWN
SLOWLY AFTER HIM AND WROTE A BOOK

They say,” fellow has an art of his own- white Magic”
“we couldn’t comprehend” they say
“we couldn’t hear his voice” they say

Magic Beans

The old shop was dilapidated;
The entry sign was faded gray.
"Magic Beans", the old gypsy stated.
I was feeling gullible that day.

"What do these magic beans do?"
No instructions were included.
"They do what you need them to do."
A few dollars less, transaction concluded.

I walked home with my magic beans,
And left them forgotten in a drawer.
Nothing changed, of so it seems.
What ever did I buy them for?

Assuming the magic must be broken,
I soaked my beans, gave them a rinse.
Cooked them, spiced, served with bacon;
And forever after haven't farted since.

An Aquarian Exposition

Take the pill
on the hill
and don't be shrill
when you see the rainbow
when you are low.
Just go with the flow
and eat the purple snow.
Chase the rabbits
through the green field
but use my shield
to end all of your habits.

I Love You

Often, I have uttered these words to myself
Your feminity has entranced my manhood
My vision is focused on your subject matter
A quick study of a woman's psychology
I feel you with my mind, and touch you with my eyes
Senses are heightened in your very presence
Soon, I will utter the ultimate words of encouragement
Constant admiration for your hidden strengths
Instant chemistry between us has changed our biology
Soon, I will hold you tight and recite the following;
Baby, I love you

Witches, Time To Go

The clock with no hands Will appear on everyone’s walls Time, it took to find you When the midnight hour approaches Do not run For I have found you So, don’t run no more Come closer I await to meet you At your hour So, don’t go far Time is a ticking

Magic Bean

Oh, how I love all beans
Not a one, I could refuse
Boiled baked or fried
Any way you want to choose
Put them in a salad
Bake them in a crock
Mix them all together
Then toss them in a wok
But there's one that very special
Magical you see
It's my loving wife
The only humanbean for me

The Little Magic Man

There was a little magic man
Who lived in a little magic land
With his little wife and children
and his little magic band.

He had a little magic black cat
Who wore a little pointed magic hat
holding a little magic wooden ball
to hit with a little magic bat!

One day a witch with magic broomstick
Flew over the little magic house
The witch cast a little magic spell
So magic cat is now a little magic mouse.

Magic Beans

Magic beans,
are they good for our hearts?
Cause' the magic that comes from these little beans
seems to give us explosive farts.

There are ones that are silent but deadly
they could kill you.....I'm willing to bet
I don't mind the ones that are noisy and dry
but, I sure hate the ones that are wet.

Magic beans are in the air
just take a big whiff....you can tell
There is only one thing I would do to these beans
I would magically take out the smell.

Magical Writing Beans

Momma soaked my magic beans
Then tossed them in a pot to steam
They lost their skin
Now I can’t spin
A tale that’s worthy of esteem

Those beans I traded for a duck
Coming with them writer's luck
Oh, woe is me
Could she not see
Those beans could earn me many bucks

“Come Eat!” She hollered up the stairs
So down I came and with horror stared
There were no beans
For so it seems
She had traded them for a duck, prepared

A whistle near the window sash
Made me jump and to it dash
The trader beamed
Eating those beans
Winked, and disappeared in a magic flash

Witchy Whrrr

Written by Gail DeBole
on March 12, 2020

The witch loved to fly on her broom.
It fit like a cozy old shoe.
Magic led her the way
As she flew in the day
And zoomed on her broom to the moon.

No electric transport for her.
Her broom hid her in a blur.
So fast did she fly
In the blink of an eye
All you heard was a magical whrrrr.
