allegory, humor, parody, political, satire, success, symbolism,
I wielded my sword
And slayed the foul dragon,
Then crammed the vile beast
Right back in his flagon.
Pickled and sodden
There will he lie
Few to remember
Fewer to cry.
Obnoxious his deeds,
Destructive his breath,
His venom pervasive,
So glad for his death.
Now we can harness
Our thoughts and our prayers,
Be kind and productive
Not just dragon slayers.
This noble island
This hallowed soil,
So very much more
Than one man’s spoil.
Let the healing commence,
Work as one to achieve,
A country in which
We all so believe.
A land of invention,
Of Shakespeare and Keats,
Of boundless endeavor,
Whose heart strongly beats.

What side of the coin will show its face?
Will it be heads or tails to end this race?
Will they count real votes or just the fakes?
It’s been a long grueling year for heaven sakes.
Will they count our votes minus socks and shoes?
Will the watermarked ballots create the blues?
A mind-numbing process will now unfold.
Will they accept the results, will the truth be told?
More violence I’m sure will rear its head.
If we defund the police, how many more will be dead?
Will we get the Great Pumpkin or the Basement Dweller?
I think we’re screwed either way with these two fellers.

Election time is upon us once more
Politicoes spew excreta galore
Promising the moon and stars
Even far away Red Mars
Seems we've heard that old baloney before

When beasts that can do nothing but roar
Meet creatures that can only ignore,
They always reach an impasse,
A pain for tiger and *** -
I'm glad it's only one year in four.
