I Can Only Hand It To You

Tapped messages go out direct
With phones it's an easy connect
Thoughts from a finger
In cyberspace linger
But touching's too much to expect

I'M So Glad My Computer Has a 'smell Chequer'

My computer has a ‘smell chequer’ Alas it doesn't seem to work For when I make an error I just look a complete jerk I know that I can smell I can do that pretty well But when I make an error It often is a terror I’m wary typing duck, I know that F is next to D Because if I do a swear it could be a tragedy If I’m typing the word shots I need to take great care Because I is next to O and of this I am aware So make sure you use your ‘smell chequer’ I am sure you will agree Your poems will be ‘prefect’ You will get it ‘write’ like me Jan Allison 25th October 2014

Emojis

Judging you by your emojis
they disclose untold stories;
Those that get the click
more than just one pick;
Not so random categories.

My Computer

The buttons are not working anymore,
Not now,’slash!,copy!,print!”just like before,
He’s misbehaving again ,
I will throw him down the drain,
Though last month, I was able to restore.

Right now, release my files before you crash,
Would have loved to give you slap in a flash,
I don’t want this contract missed,
Which will lead to being dismissed,
Wake up, boy!,don’t do this!,let’s make this cash.

Learn Something

Do you feel like each day is the same?
Do all things, every person, each glitch
you encounter seem boring and lame?
Is the rut you're in more like a ditch?

When you want to rekindle the flame,
let the internet help you enrich
your existence and soon you'll reclaim
that old joy you felt filling your niche.

If you yearn to get back in the game
learn to use the new tools that exist.
If you don't, you'll be solely to blame.
So, log on now and Google it, b&tch!

Ode To the Computer Keyboard

Ode to the Computer Keyboard

By Elton Camp

It was on a manual typewriter that I learned to key
The keyboard’s function was obvious as could be

A computer keyboard, to me, isn’t the same way
For what some of the key do, I can’t possibly say

About half I comprehend of keys called F1 to F12
Into ESC, Scroll Lock, Pause, Break I don’t delve

Perhaps they do all kinds of absolutely great stuff
But for an old man like me, they are way too tough

ESC stands for “Escape” said the computer geek
If it escapes, then I guess he would have to seek

If I should see this useless key trying to get away
I’d just say, “It’s goodbye and good riddance today.”

Rick Roll

Rick, you got me once again;
I'm tired of feeling dumb.
Curse your mindless hyperlinks!
Kiss my big fat bum!

Rick, I'll never pass it on,
On this day or another.
Let the halfwits have their fun.
Let them have their druthers.

A battle ground for morons
Will we ever learn?

Artificial Intelligence - Bah

AI is worthy - but is it a pity?
Nothing's been done on synthetic stupidity
Smart may be good, but dumb gullibility
Will grow without limit and tend to infinity
Clever and cunning is not very hard
But it takes a brainbox to program a dullard
So why not SS instead of AI?
Well witless behaviour's in no short supply

Double Disappointment

I woke up in rapture, when she started to sing.
Naughty whispers in my ears, “Someone’s coming”
My ecstatic view;
A child is due!
Then she continues, “My mother’s visiting”

Pricked

Your love pricks me like a rose each thorn grows but no one knows Your so full of
it as it shows so carry on now go on, go. I'm fed up with the phony and i'm
through with the tears, you couldn't pay me all your money to make up for those
years. Someone help me I feel faint how could I think he was such a saint and
worst of all I let me fall into a spiral down below. A magic called love carried
by the dove of someone I use to know.

A Techno-Nightmare

Grandma sneered at my computer in awe;
Contempt did build and it stuck in her craw.
Said it was the devil’s work,
The new keys drove her berserk.
She claimed they had to be against God’s law.

“What do these things mean, page up and page down?”
So she pressed “escape,” continued to frown
All of my work had been lost
And I was growing quite cross
In my cussing, grandma started to drown

“Why did you hit escape?” I had to ask.
“Now I must begin anew this tough task.”
     She responded politely,
     “I hate this technology
And wanted you to "escape" Satan’s grasp!”

Firefox - Firefox

Firefox, Firefox
Why don’t you behave
You’re my latest browser
And I’d like you to stay

But some of these add ons
Just concave
They make you crash
And misbehave

But I must admit
You’re the best so far
I’ve tried a few
And you’re a star

You don’t like Java
I think, I can tell
It’s red in my plug ins
Why do you rebel

So before I ditch you
I’ll give you a chance
If you crash again
It will be your last

Firefox, Firefox
Let’s get on together
You do the browsing
And I’ll check the weather

What My Computer Thinks

Here he comes again
The keyboard pounder on the loose
Sure wish he’d learn to type
Without the finger abuse
Or overuse of
The Backspace key

Don’t smack me
I didn’t lose your pictures
You should have backed them up
Before you opened that attachment
And invited that worm
Into my circuitry
You bum

Go get some medicine
And wipe that nose mist
Off my monitor
That’s disgusting

Don’t open that file
Here comes that Trojan Horse
You’re on your own now
I just don’t care anymore

Hey, who are you
Where’d my user go
What’s that CD you’re shoving in me
My memory
My memory
My mem…………..

Hello
Welcome to Windows

On the Fancy Package It Came In

on the fancy package
it came in
it did not say
that smoking this
might be bad for your health --

So
in a dark corner of the room
I lit up my iPhone
smoked it
and felt
satisfied.

The Dream

I had a good dream
I wanted to remember
Could not remember

Good dream so I thought
Took an internet dream course
Now remembering

My memory came
Somethings are best left alone
Scared me to death

Leprechaun - Version 16

March 16, 2016
Written by Gail DeBole

Leprechaun - Version 16.0

A Leprechaun who would not rest
Until achieving his virtual best.
Would look for the gold
As he virtually scrolled
To find his emoji treasure chest.

Curry Flavoured Computer

Yesterday
I'm afraid to say
I spilled a plate of Ruby curry
Allover my computer
And now it's sadly dead
I was so upset with myself I went to bed
I cleaned it the best I coold
But still also it was' no good
Now I have to have it repaired
Good job I have computer on my TV
I fell so silly
Curry and computers don't mix
Don't TRy it at home
Or it will cost a lot to fix.

Anyone want to buy a computer cheap?.

RIP Ethel.

Edmund, the Node

Edmund becomes the code
Traversing he's a node
He spies the bug
A recursive slug
Triumphant to his abode
