Spring House Cleaning (Reverse Etharee)

SPRING HOUSE CLEANING ( reverse Etheree)

house
ugh! house!
needs cleaning
it’s saturday
what an awful mess!
dust cobwebs outside dirt
it boggles my mind to think
when I think it’s of other things
wouldn’t it be nice to take a nap
all day but then the mess will still be there
know what? I saw an add in the paper
this old chinese lady cleans houses
she is very reasonable
654 – 7328
“hello chinese lady?
you say she’s out now?
what does she charge?......
saturday?
no workee”
GREAT!

A Good Winter's Cleaning

What are Cabinites all things you find when cleaning cabinet dwellers

Fred's House Cleaning Fix

Home alone lived the widower, Fred with no inkling at all in his head of how to clean house. Without his dear spouse, Fred was facing his clutter with dread. Everywhere there were cobwebs and dust. Even pieces of old pizza crust! And a horrid new smell Fred began to inhale while surveying the mess with disgust. It smelled just like a rat there had died, so Fred flew into action. He cried, “Cleaning service I’ll pay. I must call them today, and next week I will search for a bride!” Written March 16, 2012 For Francine Roberts' Cobwebs and Dust Poetry Contest Theme: Cobwebs and Dust

Cleaning Sandcastle

.
Soft sighing of tall Georgia pines
                                       Simmering stew bubbles on stove
                                       Sounds_scents envelope combine
Sabotaged sage while she so strove
                                        To complete cleaning sandcastle
Built in sand, shuttle there now scantle

Cleaning Day

I think that God had intended
For Spring cleaning.
After all, he intended for doors
To light dark corners,
The spiders to spin webs
Along the walls..
The dust collecting
On the surfaces,
The bird's song
As an incentive
To keep working.
The tiny sqeak
Of cleaning windows,
The allure
Of a newly made bed,
With my puppy by my pillow...
The crisp, clean look
Of a newly painted wall,
And the soft feel
Of new carpet on your toes..
The clean smell
Of newly hung laundry,
But most of all...
I think God had intended
For Spring cleaning
As a darn good reason
To REST.

While Cleaning the House

One day while cleaning the house

   I happened upon a mouse;

   unafraid and perfectly glad,

   this mouse stood his ground

   long ago, one day;

Little field-general he was,

   the last of his kind

   one could say

Then on his hands he rose,

   pointy-eared and whiskered nose

a salute of courage he bore,

   then scampered he did behind

   a bookcase he go,

   too sly for cats,

(and a startled poet cleaning his home!)

Long ago, one day

   I happened upon a mouse

   while cleaning the house,

(roving the dappled rooms as he may!)

** A true childhood story!**

Spring Cleaning

Eat lots of vegetables and fruit
Then...drink copious amounts of water...

My spring cleaning.

Cleaning My Closet

As I clean my closet,
I find:
3 homework assignments
10 rubberbands
5 dirty socks (were is the sixth)
8 unhung shirts
6 pairs of pants
9 magazines
1 pair of glasses
3 unpaid tickets(jail time there)
1 broken camera
and the reason it's all still in the closet

Cleaning House

My wife and I went up to the loft the other day
And I cleaned it with her while we were there
But oh dear now there is all hell to pay
As I cant get the cobwebs out of her hair

Spring House Cleaning

I'm making a list
It seems there are a thousand stretches and corners
Too many by far to clean all at one stretch
Umpteen thousand stretches and corners

Haven't done a thing since last spring
I stretch and yawn just thinking about all those stretches and corners
I'm thinking.....
Just one corner each day one stretch
Till the whole damn house is done
This plan seems sensible
Manageable
Yes that's the word
Manageable BUT!

At my age just a look at the long list I'm making out wears me out
At one a day it will take me
Umpteen thousand days
?
Awwww hell!
What's the use?
I won't live that long anyway

Overrated virtues of cleaning

Organ-ize it
like some sort of sick
symphony
I suppose
though the latter half of my A&P
studies
suggest otherwise
working together in harmony
a kind of homeostasis, (it makes me
shudder to think of any living space being like that)
organ...ized
like fossilized something that sets out a course to
take place over eons of time
that no one small
frail human could ever understand
much less scratch with tiny hands
at the surface of..
it just feels so cold, so
desolate,
but despite all this languid poetry
and verse
the room still has to get cleaned

Grandpa's X-mas Cleaning Service

Grandpa slid down the chimney X-mas night

      When he dusted himself off

         His bottom was black ...

            But the chimney was white

Cleaning the House

We shoveled stuff under the couch.
Piles of it, until it was lumpy and the cushions rose in the air.
We shoved stuff under the refrigerator
But the mice shoved it back
This is when we fired the exterminator.
